Informal Letter Contest

These are some of the informal letters 

written by my students. 

Hello Simon,

Great to hear from you again! I'm very sorry I haven't got a clear photo in my profile. This is why I'm writing to you, to describe myself.

To begin with, I am a tall girl that has long brown hair. My skin tone is tanned. I have brown and striking eyes, and I have a wide smile. Regarding my personality, I could say that I'm cheerful, a bit reserved and very insecure. I consider myself a reliable person who can keep a secret without any problem. Another thing is that I'm extremely optimistic, I never give up! However, sometimes I can be a rather selfish person.

In connection with your last question, I don't have a boyfriend, but I have a lot of friends. We are a large group of girls that has been together since kindergarten. Although they are all different, they are really good people and they would never hurt anyone. We like going to the cinema and to parties, or spending time together having fun.

Anyway, I must go and get on with my work! I can't wait to hear from you.

Hi John,

I´m sorry I haven´t written for such a long time, I was studying for my Math exam. It was difficult but finally I did it well! 

In answer to your first question, I´m not very tall, I´ve got short, brown hair and brown eyes too. I have bushy eyebows and I still don´t have facial hair. I also have a suntanned skin. Referring to my personality, I´m a very reserved person and I´m quite honest too, when I do something wrong I usually admit it. Something good about me is that I´m a very careful person. Sometimes I´m a bit moody so I´m not friendly at all, and that isn´t good.

In connection to the question about my family and friends, I have one younger sister and I still live with my parents. I have some good friends downtown, who I visit on Fridays. I like playing football with them at weekends, but if we are downtown, we also like going to the cinema or staying at home playing the guitar.

Anyway, I must go and get on with my homework! I can´t wait to hear from you again.

Hello Jamie!

How are you? I hope you and your family are well. As you said, I don’t have pictures of me in Facebook because I don’t like sharing personal information online, but I would love to tell you what I look like.

To begin with, I’m an average girl with tanned skin, I’ve got curly, dark hair and big, brown eyes, which some people think are black as they’re extremely dark. Regarding my personality, I’m a really open-minded person because I think we are all the same and we have the same rights. However, I’m a bit skeptical and rather anxious.

Referring to my personal life, I live with my parents and my two brothers, they are all really supportive and I love spending my free time with them. I also have a best friend called Celeste, she’s like my sister and I really enjoy hanging out with her as we’ve got a lot of things in common. Currently, I don’t have a boyfriend but with these people around I don’t think I need it!

Anyway, I must go and get ready for school. I look forward to hearing from you!

      Good to hear from you again, I am writing in order to reply to your questions about me.

      Well to start off,I'm tall. I have short brunette hair, I've got hazel eyes and long curly eyelashes. My lips are small but I have a big bright smile. In connection to my personality, I would say that I'm a bit moody when I have a bad day but on a good one I'm really joyful, funny and playful. People say I'm a humble, honest and good person.

      Referring to my family, well, I've got younger twin siblings who are called Mili and Leo. Mili loves reading and Leo loves building things with LEGOS.I live with my parents, Cesar and Cinthia. My mom doesn't work and my father is an engineer. I love spending time with my family and my friends too. With my friends we usually have sleepovers or we go out. I still don't have a boyfriend but I will let you know as soon as I have one.
